Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of FriendChat ("the service"), a website that randomly connects you with other people for live video and text chat. By ticking "I agree" and using the service, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Who can use FriendChat
- You must be 18 years or older. If you are under 18, you may not use the service.
- You must not use the service if you have been banned from it.
- You are responsible for following the laws that apply where you live.
2. What the service is
FriendChat connects you with a random stranger. We do not check who other users are, and we cannot see, record or approve what they show or say before you see it. Other users are strangers and may not be who they say they are. You use the service at your own risk.
3. Rules of behaviour
While using FriendChat you must not:
- show nudity, sexual acts or sexual content, or ask others to;
- involve, show or target anyone under 18 in any way;
- harass, threaten, bully, insult or discriminate against anyone;
- record, screenshot, stream or share other users' video, image or messages without their clear permission;
- share other people's personal information;
- spam, advertise, scam, or send people to other websites or services;
- show violence, self-harm, illegal drugs or other illegal activity;
- pretend to be another person, or use an offensive or misleading name;
- try to break, overload, hack or get around the service's safety features or bans;
- use bots, scripts or automated tools.
4. Reporting, skipping and bans
- You can skip anyone at any time with Next, and report them with the flag button. Reported users are never matched with you again.
- If several different people report the same user, that user's internet address (IP address) is banned automatically for a period of time.
- We may also block, ban or remove anyone, at any time and without warning, if we believe they broke these terms or put others at risk.
- Chat messages are automatically filtered for some offensive words.
5. Your safety
- Don't share personal details such as your full name, address, phone number, school, workplace, social media or financial information.
- Remember that the other person may be able to record or take a picture of their screen. Browsers cannot fully prevent this. Don't show anything on camera you wouldn't want to be seen by others.
- Each stranger's video starts blurred so you can skip before seeing it. You can also blur your own video with the Blur me button.
- If you are in danger or witness a crime, contact your local police or emergency services.
6. Your content
You are responsible for everything you show, say or type on the service. We do not record or store video or audio, and we do not save chat messages.
7. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always work, be error-free or be safe, or that other users will behave well.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the behaviour or content of other users, or for any loss or harm that results from using the service.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. When we make an important change, you will be asked to agree again before you can keep using the service.
